Introduction
This guide assumes that the user knows how to use exchanges and transfer cryptocurrency.
Electra uses proof-of-stake (POS) to achieve distributed consensus. This means that in order to earn Electra you need to own some first. This can be done by buying Electra from the exchanges listed in Electra’s:

Solo Staking Guide for Windows
1. Download and install wallet from:

2. Run wallet (Electra-qt) once and close it.
Known issues:
a. The wallet may give an error the first time you attempt to open it due to Windows user permissions. If so, open it again and it should work (it happens only on the first run).
b. There have been cases where the antivirus software prevents the wallet from running, and to solve this, Electra-qt needs to be added as an exception.
The wallet has been identified as safe by numerous antivirus software:

3. Open Notepad and copy and paste the following into it replacing user and pass with your own text:
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=5788
addnode=217.77.59.45:5817
addnode=93.115.61.93:5817
addnode=94.23.102.99:5817
addnode=52.41.97.84:5817
Note: To increase your connection chances to the Electra network, you can also add text at the following link, which shows Electra’s live nodes, to your Notepad file: https://novaexchange.com/addnodes/ECA/
4. Save as Electra.conf to Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/Electra. Appdata may be hidden. If so, modify this from File Explorer in the Control Panel by going to the View tab and selecting “Show hidden, files, folders or drives”. You may also need to uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types” for Notepad to save properly as Electra.conf (not Electra.conf.txt).
5. Open the wallet and keep it open until it is synced.
6. Transfer Electra into your wallet from the exchange you bought Electra from.
7. After the wallet is synced, go to Settings>Encrypt Wallet, choose a passphrase and click OK.
8. Go to Settings>Unlock Wallet, enter the passphrase you created in step 6, and check “For Staking Only” and click OK.
These steps should enable staking which can be verified by an upwards facing arrow logo turning green at the bottom-right of the wallet (it may take a couple minutes). The wallet must remain open or staking will stop. The more Electra you own, the higher your chance is to earn more daily.
